Monday Dec 29th

Today's best moment was surely going hermit-crab shopping with Laura. I think that's pretty self explanatory ;)

However...

While checking up on headlines - I am TERRIBLE about popping onto CNN.com several times a day to ensure that the world hasn't exploded since I last checked, usually by catching up on entertainment, odd, science, and health news; like any of that has squat to do with global annihilation ;) - I ran across a health article that critiqued the best of the diets currently out there. Their #1 pick was The Structure House Weight Loss Plan from The Structure House in North Carolina. (I've tried linking up the book and site, but it just isn't working. Their site is www.structurehouse.com)

Anyway, I'm a firm believer that there's more to this weight-loss thing than 'eat less, exercise more', because the problem isn't my tummy, it's my freaking BRAIN. It looks like the Structure House plan addresses the wayward 'gimme nummies and lemme sit around like a slug!!' brain as its primary focus. So I ordered the book. I'll let folks know how it goes. :)

Sunday. Already.

Man, I stink at posting every day. Great intentions, crappy follow through.

It's almost 4:30 in the afternoon, and I think the best moment - beating passionate smooches with Bill - has been online textbook shopping with Laura. Was really fun.

I also talked to Bill about me maybe taking an art class in January at a local gallery. Looks like it's a go, as long as it's not conflicting w/ my quilt guild treasurer job, which means I need to get out a calendar and SEE what days correspond w/ the class dates. Seeing as how there's 4 classes and only 1 quilt guild meeting, it shouldn't be too much of a conflict issue. ;)

Thursday (Christmas)

Today's a tossup between Laura's continual glee over getting a PSP, and me taking a nap this afternoon with Bill.

She's been wanting a hand-held video game system for a LONG time and I happened into a really, REALLY good sale. It was nice to see her so happy.

Wednesday

Late again. Sorry.

Okay, Wednesday's best moment was the three of us having lunch out yesterday while running last-minute holiday errands. It was just nice, ya know?

Tuesday

I think the best moment today was getting line edits from Sam for Stain's Chapter 1. We're trying to get a proposal packet - 3 chapters and synopsis - out this weekend.

Monday

Today the best thing was when Bill called and said he was in an accident but he was okay.

He was hit by a guy who ran a red light then fled the scene. There's some damage to the front/passenger side of the car and he sounded a little shaky. The car doesn't matter, though. Bill is all right.

Sunday

Getting a hug from Laura.

Her first semester grades are kinda 'meh' and mom (me) isn't taking it well, but I'm trying to do better. So I apologized and we hugged and it's all okay.

Saturday

I really thought that I posted on Thursday - I knew I didn't yesterday, but it was an insanely busy day.

Anyway, today's best moment was realizing that Christmas w/ the families was DONE. I dread Christmas with all the family turmoil, just hate it, but all that's left is a wonderful, quiet, day with Bill and Laura and THAT is just fine with me!

Wednesday

Was just a great day with Bill, all around. Took Malaysia and Gypsum to the vet for antibiotic shots - they're both fighting respiratory infections - got to nap together, smooch together, had a nice supper... Just a nice day with my sweetie.

Tuesday

Today's best moment was getting my kitchen clean after trashing it making cookies and toffee.

It would have been easier had the kitchen been clean to start with, but nooooo, I had to jump in and bake. lol

Monday

A dear friend told me she was pregnant and I'm sooooooo excited! I get to make a BABY QUILT!

Oh, and she's having a baby, but I have an excuse to make a BABY QUILT! lol ;)

Sunday

Waking up with a completely new and non-Dubric story idea which I actually got written down!

It's a modern crime novel so it might be fun!

Saturday

Laura cooked lunch, chuck roast, and it was glorious!

All in all it was a really nice day, but I think lunch was the best part, all three of us together at the kitchen table, and a meal I didn't have to cook!

Friday

Cuddling with Bill in the wee hours of this morning before he got up to start his day.

With his hours and sleep schedule, we don't get much quality time. It's really nice when it happens.

Today's best moment...

Receiving an email from M.C. (another agent at my agent's agency - how's that for repetition?;) ) who wanted to thank me for sending the office a sampler pack of gourmet popcorn for a holiday gift. Super Agent Bill always shares the treats I send and, most always, some of the other agents call or email to thank me. It not only makes me like them all that much more - I've talked to just about every one in the office several times and they're awesome! - it makes me wonder how few authors thank their agents for their hard work, support, and experience.

Anyway, it was a nice email from a very nice man.

Monday, December 8th

Today's best moment was talking to Laura on the phone about finals, her ear infection, Christmas plans, and her coming home Wednesday. The second best was napping with Bill. It is our anniversary after all.

Sunday December 7th

Playing Monster Under The Blanket with our kitten Malaysia.

It's a good game. You need a cat, a hand, and a blanket. Put your hand under the blanket and make scratchy noises on the bed/sofa/whatever. Cat will love pouncing on it, reaching under blanket, and otherwise hunting the monster. :)
